Good Monday morning to you all!!
I am back today with a multi media board for our latest challenge over at Simon Says Stamp and Show: Inspired by. This could be anything from a quote, a song lyric, or your favorite artist.
My daughter requested a turquoise board for her wall, so that got my mind thinking to a very cool technique I had seen on the Faber-Castell blog HERE.
Here is the start of my board. I had already applied a few coats of Gesso to the canvas. I planned a little different project, it was to cover the whole board with my Gelatos:)
Here is the whole board covered :) Not too sure about it at this point, thinking it might be too dark...but I love the canvas texture from the brush strokes from applying the Gesso!
To lighten it up, I decided to apply a bit more Gesso :)Ok...so it looks cool, not sure I like it thought, kinda do and want to leave it lol...so what now???
Cover it with a whole lot of different stencil images :)
I am a little sad that the pretty background does not show much anymore, but I got over it LOL! I just wanted to share...something I had not done before... and that is to use my copics through my stencils...works really well and if you are like me, and have a "few"....they give you many colour options, depending on how many you have of course LOL!!!
The stencil easily cleaned up with rubbing alcohol :)
I still had some leftover salt technique paper lying around, so I decided to use it for my heart...I wanted to share a tip. I cut our my heart as a stencil....that way I can move the open heart around on the homemade paper to find just the look I want :)
Just like every week Heidi from Simon Says Stamp is giving away a $50 dollar voucher to one random participant to spend at the Simon Says Stamp Superstore :)
You just might want to check out the rest of the dt....they have some amazing projects to share with you at the Simon Says Stamp and Show Blog :)
Have a fantastic day! Hugs, TRace

Ohh Tracey, this is really cool! Love how you took us with you into your creative process. It's so relatable! Hugs, Sandra
Beautiful! Love the texture on the background and the layers you put into the canvas. I am sure your daughter loves it!
Trace...I really like your canvas and your use of the Gelatos. That blue is vibrant. All of the gesso, texture and stenciling you did looks really good. The red heart really pops off the canvas! I also really like the way your white sentiment that you've cut and popped onto canvas looks. <3 Candy
Gorgeous background. Love your use of Gelatos Trace and the added white highlights with the Gesso.mthe heart is a fabulous focal image and great sentiment too. Tracy x
