Simon Says Stamp and Show- Quotable

Good Monday morning!! I'm back with our latest Simon Says Stamp and Show Challenge- Quotable. There are so many wonderful quotes floating around our social media world today....pinterest and facebook, just to name a few I find inspiration from :) The quote I have chosen is by Abraham Lincoln, I have loved it for quite some time! We actually have it on a art board in our basement, but I also wanted it in my art journal :)

To start the two page spread, I lay down quite a bit of Dylusions ink :)

Next, I sprayed water through a circle stencil.

You end up with this cool water mark effect :) I did do a little mistake in the bottom right corner...I don't like how it shows the edge of the stencil...I forgot to slightly lift the stencil up....that would of avoided this, OR you can mask off the edge like I have shown in the above photo.

Here I have traced inside one of my Dylusions stencils and then coloured in the leaves in with Faber-Castell Markers.

Here I have just gone a little wild and added more stamping and ink through stencils :)

A few close-ups to show the details :)

I used my Copic markers on Neenah paper for the quote banner.

I had to add a little bit of sparkle :)

The Simon Says Stamp Superstore is once again offering up a generous $50 dollar store voucher to one random participant!!

The rest of the design team is so inspirational, I would suggest you give them a looky :) and then join us at Simon Says Stamp and Show. I can't wait to see all the different quotes! Thanks for stopping by to visit! Hugs, TRace

Simon Says Stamp and Show Challenge: Water

Good Monday morning!
Our challenge this week at Simon Says Stamp and Show is Water. many ways you could interpret this! I choose to share a tag with you where I used THREE different water techniques. To me these water techniques are like  magic LOL! So fun, and most of the time have an element of unpredictability....which is good for the evolving to be no longer perfection striving me....I really think I am achieving success AND happy with the results too :)  Here is my tag....this is a photo heavy post....I really wanted to show you all the THREE water techniques :)

To be able to use the first technique...I needed to have a tag that had plenty of ink on it, so I applied Tim Holtz Distress Stains in colours: Wild Honey, and Tumbled Glass. I know...kinda ugly :)...just wait...I have heard most projects have this "ugly" stage and not to give up!!!!

Next I added some Distress inks with a blending it now lol!

So for the first water technique...I sprayed the stencil with water and applied it down on the tag, let it sit for a minute or two to absorb the water, then remove the can do the opposite and spray water once the dry stencil is will give the reverse image.

I just repeated the process to get the bottom of the tag covered too. LOVE all the new colours created :) :) :) on to water technique #2. I white embossed a flower image on Neenah could also use watercolour paper. Next I messily coloured in the image with my Tim Holtz Distress Markers. Another "ugly" stage lol!

Then I spritzed the image with a mixture of water and perfect pearls. Doing this blends the ink and gives a pretty shimmery flower. As you can see by the completed tag....I redid the embossed images to a black colour :)

For the leaves I just traced inside my Dylusions Luscious Leaves stencil.

and painted in the leaves with Distress Crackle Paint in clear rock candy :)

My final and third water technique was used to custom colour my ribbon.

All you do is stamp your Tim Holtz Distress Ink pad down on your Ranger craft mat, it dosen't look like much...but give it a few sprays of the water and PP mixture you used earlier and magic!!  Then swirl your ribbon in the ink....I put my hand in a baggie so I don't get inky...I just reuse it over and over again :)

I would love to see you try some of these water techniques and show us your projects over at Simon Says Stamp and Show!!!

You might just be the random winner of a $50 dollar store voucher at the Simon Says Stamp Superstore!!! Heidi is sooo generous :)

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great day! Hugs, TRace :)
