CAARDvarks "Color It" Challenge

After so many "girly" cards last week, I felt like using some darker colours....funny thing is it is still "girly" I guess I am just a "girly" girl!!! Had so much fun playing with my Tim Holtz Distress Inks and Hero Arts stamps!

To create the background it was a five step process :) I inked white PI paper with Tim Holtz Distress Ink in colour milled lavender, then I stamped it with HA Cling stamp Flourish Background in colour dusty concord. Next I stamped the paper with HA Cling stamp Floating Flowers in colour broken china and heat embossed it with clear embossing powder. Accents of white dots were added with my white Galaxy Marker.
HA Cling stamp Butterflies were coloured using my Copics and coated with Ranger Glossy Accents.

I don't think I have ever made such a dark card, but I am OK with it :) Just have to find the right person to send it to!

Have a wonderful day!

Oh how I LOVE this colour challenge!! I think these are Lucy's favorite colours? Over on Donna Mikasa's blog, she has a link to a tutorial about combining your Copics with your Prisma's and Gamsol. I was feeling guilty about not laying one hand on my Prisma's since the Copics have come into my life lol! Thanks to Donna I am now quilt free....

Hero Arts Trimmings challenge

I just loved the colours Lucy has chosen for her first challenge!!! Pink, Aqua and Kraft...can it get any better!!! I also used Sketch #93 from Got Sketch for both of these cards. In case you are interested the bottom blue panel on the above card, it was obtained in a few steps: First I embossed the white cardstock with CG123 Flower Wallpaper in Zing white embossing powder. Then I inked up paper with Hero Arts Soft Pool ink, and I picked the flowers I wanted to remain that colour and applied glue to them with a glue pen. Then I added clear embossing powder and heated. The glue gives it a whitish-blue colour. Then I inked the whole paper with Distress blue china ink by Ranger. I once again coloured in the darker flowers with an embossing pen, and clear embossed these images. Last step was to add Distress shabby shutters ink by Ranger for some added depth. Hope this all makes sense? LOL!

I had been saving every little strip of paper FOREVER!!!!! I have Scottish blood in my veins! LOL!! Finally a challenge and sketch where I could use them up!!!! Also had the tree image, red glitter snowflake, and glitter M lying around on my desk from last weeks glitter challenge. I just can't seem to stop using GLITTER... Have I mentioned how much I LOVE glitter!!!!
Thanks for stopping by! Have a fantastic day! I'm off to hit the bike trainer for 30 mins ahhhhh.

SORRY, but I lied to you............

Last night at 8:00pm I decided I NEEDED to try for the very first time a DIGI hybrid card.....that peer pressure influence happening again :) I guess I really do need my "sista's" or I would never get anything done lol! So I added some glitter so I could submit it to the Hero Arts "glitter" challenge.

Thanks for looking once again,

Glitter and more GLITTER :))

I've used this sketch by Card Patterns for another GLITTER card challenge at Hero Arts.

All stamps are Hero Arts :)

I used Zing red glitter embossing powder for the Old Letter Writing stamp S4878. My Sakura Gelly Roll glitter pen was used on the Flourish Background stamp G119 , around my new Nestabilties Label 8, and around my Shapeabilities Labels Trio that has CL342 Everyday Sayings stamp. Finally, I used Pearlizing medium mixed with LuminAtre and water to cover the white areas around the Wallpaper Flower K5185 stamp. Stamp CG130 Butterflies has Glossy Accents covering it....LOVE this stuff too!!!!

Have a WONDERFUL day!!

NEVER say never :)

I swear I was not one of those girls in school that followed whatever anyone else was doing......times have changed LOL!!

Since Triathlon season is over most of my upcoming posts will be about cards and scrapbooking. This weeks challenge over at the Hero Arts Blog is to incorporate glitter into a card of any theme. http://heroarts.com/blogs/club/ Still thinking about this one, hopefully will have a card to post in a couple of days.

Have a great day,
TRace
