Good morning! I am back today with the latest challenge for Simon Says Stamp and Show: Fly. Upon thinking of ideas for this challenge, many came to mind such as birds, airplanes, clouds, feathers, and of course my favorite butterflies....so I just had to go that route :) This tags message comes at a fitting time actually...for I have recently resigned from my job....cross your fingers for the magic for me would you? LOL!
This tag did started as a mop of tag, to which I then applied my Mini Peony stencil and embossing paste...love how this gives dimension!
Next I applied a coat of Distress crackle paint in rock candy...I was pleasantly surprised to see that this made some of the ink colour move around, and it also facilitated the embossing paste picking up some of the colours too!
After the crackle paint had dried over night, I applied a layer of Distress Stain in picket fence.
I just love how the Tim Holtz white picket fence paint pools in concave areas of the crackle and just gives it a bit more subdued look :) Almost like clouds for the butterflies....ok I know that is a bit of a stretch lol!
Ok....one last photo to show the dimension of the butterflies, I use Helmar Liquid Scrap Dots adhesive...it is so cool, because you can built it up to what ever height you need and they don't flatten down...love that!!
Now wouldn't you want to be the recipient of a $50 dollar store voucher at Simon Says Stamp Superstore??? of course you would !! So all you have to do is create a project with the challenge theme in mind: Fly, and pop on over to Simon Says Stamp and Show and link it up....easy peasy!
Hope to see you there! Thanks for stopping by to visit and have the most wonderful day! Hugs, TRace
