Good afternoon! Just in taking a break from the yard work...it really has put a damper into my creating and blogging...sorry for that :) I was finally able to get started on my Christmas cards yesterday thanks to some much needed mojo from Pinterest! I saw this beautiful card HERE at Paper Crafts Connection, and it was all I needed to be inspired. I made eight of this same pattern with slightly different sayings from the Hero Arts clear set CL630 Miracle of the Holiday, and I got really good and inky.:) :) :) Playing with ink is my FAVORITE thing to do!!!
This photo does not show the pretty shine from the Perfect Pearls spritz, so below are some close-ups :)
I used a slightly different inking technique for this embossed background. I added Tim Holtz Distress STAIN randomly to the image in the lightest colour of Tumbled Glass, making sure to leave some white space. Then I used Tim Holtz Distress REINKERS.....applying the tiniest drop randomly around the paper in colours Broken China and Faded Jeans....then these drops were liberally spritzed with a Perfect Pearls and water mixture. Then I tilted the paper around and around, and let the ink travel...it tended to stay within the embossed areas, and because I used the reinkers, the colours are much more intense and concentrated...a different look and colours :)
This pretty snowflake is from a Impression-Obsession die set of three snowflakes, I embossed it with Zing silver metallic powder.
Thanks for popping into visit! Have a fantastic day! Hugs, TRace

LOVE the gorgeous backgrounds that you create with the technique that you describe. I don't have Distress Stains, but keep meaning to try this with Distress Markers (that I've seen at your blog). Beautiful card ! Shirleyx
