Still in LOVE with Aqua!!!

AND my hubby of twenty years!!!! Gord's birthday is next Sunday, so I thought I better get going and make him his B-Day card!! Hope he thinks "aqua" is a "manly" colour LOL!! I personally think it can play both sides....that doesn't sound to good hahahaha.

I am LOVING the current challenge at CAARDvarks, it is this sketch by Becky Fleck:

So here is my card, inspired by the beautiful Cuban waters :)

I once again pushed myself to pull out some "older" stamps to use....it really is helping me with my quilt over getting so many new ones LOL!! All the strips are made using Hero Art stamps and Tim Holtz Distress Inks in colours Broken China and Walnut Stain.

Supplies:
Hero Arts stamps: CL139 Birthday Messages, S5141 Four Leaf Grid, LP128 Artistic Windows, S5101 Raindrop Background, S5216 Grid Pattern, and CG125 Friend Definition.

Today.... I am in love with AQUA!!!

I am TOTALLY in love with the colour turquoise/aqua !!! I have decided to paint my craft room/office this colour....it is called "ocean spray". I was trying to find a "fresh" green for this room, but I just couldn't find the right shade, so I stopped fighting myself and succumbed to painting ANOTHER room in my house turquoise :) (one bathroom and my dining room are already this colour!).

Maybe this is the reason why I love this colour so much!!! A photo taken during the Christmas holidays on our trip to Cuba. This beach is known as the "Best" beach in Cuba, it is called Pillar Beach. Absolutely jaw dropping!!!

So when I saw Dawn's Raspberry Colour Challenge #21 had the colour Aqua in it I could not resist!!!

Here is my card:

The beads look black in this photo. but they are brown :) Coloured the flower with Copics and added twinkling watercolour paints. I watched Dawn's bow tying video to FINALLY help me tie a bow that looks pretty :)

Supplies:
Hero Arts stamps: CG141 Engraved Flower, CL380 Truly Appreciated, and CG119 Flourish Background.
Paper: PTI
Fiskers Punch
Copic Markers
Misc beads and ribbon

Thanks for visiting...Have a WONDERFUL day!!!

IN LOVE <3

Do you ever just LOVE a colour combo and feel like you could just make a zillion cards for that challenge???....well that is how I fell about the latest challenge at Embellish :) Pink, red and black with HEARTS...I LOVE hearts LOL!!! PLUS Hero Arts is having their monthly challenge of Friendship and Valentine's....I just LOVE to make cards for both these themes....I think, no I know the housework is going to be taking a backseat this month LOL!! Don't you wish there where 48 hours to each day!?!?!!

Here is my card:

I created the pink background by repeatedly stamping the dot flourish stamp and embossing it with Zing white powder. Then I inked the paper with Tim Holtz Distress Ink in colour worn lipstick and then added perfect pearls mixed with water to give it a sheen (hard to see in the photo).

Supplies:
Stamps: Hero Arts
Paper: Bo Bunny, Bazzill, and PTI
Misc chipboard hearts

I'm so EXCITED!!!

Doesn't that saying make you sing the song from the Pointer Sisters in your head all the time....please tell me it is not ONLY me LOL!! "

Well my cause for excitement is that I have been chosen for my very first Design Team!!!! My friend Kathy pushed me to apply....come to think of it, she is the one also responsible for my Copic addiction AND this blog!!! She is the best...LOVE her :)

I am so honored to say that I am a member of CARD PATTERNS design team... YIPEE!!!!

They have weekly awesome sketches that are released each Saturday, with inspirational examples from the design team. You have until the following Friday to upload to Mr. Linky on their blog HERE. Each week a "super six" will be highlighted, and one winner is selected from that six! That person then becomes a Guest Designer on the blog two weeks later!!!! ALSO there is a random weekly draw from all entries to win a prize from that weeks sponsor! SO MANY chances to win and be recognized...PLEASE come join me in the fun :))

HAPPY NEW YEAR !!!!!

WOW!!! Looking back at the year past I can say "WOW what a year!"...it has been a wonderful year for me :) Mostly due in part to this hobby that we all share...I have met the most special crafters both in person, and on various sites and blogs. It is through this that I feel my life has been greatly enriched...so THANK YOU ALL!!

I am so EXCITED to share that Sally Traidman picked me as her choice for !!!Win A Day on the Hero Arts Blog!!! How amazing is this, I am so honored to be chosen and share the week with my fellow Hero Arts friends: Jenn, Kathy, Vanessa, Fika and Alice. It will occur sometime in February I believe.

Last night I finally had some time to play and put together these two very similar cards using the beautiful Cling stamp CG140 Poppy Background by Hero Arts:

I used Tim Holtz Distress inks for both backgrounds; the first card I spritz the ink before stamping and the second card I clear embossed the inks. Poppies were coloured in with my Copics.

Thanks for peeking!! Wishing you and your loved ones all the best for the New Year 2010!!!!

Hugs,
Tracey
