Simon Says Stamp and Show Challenge: Water

Good Monday morning!
Our challenge this week at Simon Says Stamp and Show is Water. WOW...so many ways you could interpret this! I choose to share a tag with you where I used THREE different water techniques. To me these water techniques are like  magic LOL! So fun, and most of the time have an element of unpredictability....which is good for the evolving to be no longer perfection striving me....I really think I am achieving success AND happy with the results too :)  Here is my tag....this is a photo heavy post....I really wanted to show you all the THREE water techniques :)

To be able to use the first technique...I needed to have a tag that had plenty of ink on it, so I applied Tim Holtz Distress Stains in colours: Wild Honey, and Tumbled Glass. I know...kinda ugly :)...just wait...I have heard most projects have this "ugly" stage and not to give up!!!!

Next I added some Distress inks with a blending tool...love it now lol!

So for the first water technique...I sprayed the stencil with water and applied it down on the tag, let it sit for a minute or two to absorb the water, then remove the stencil....you can do the opposite and spray water once the dry stencil is down...it will give the reverse image.

I just repeated the process to get the bottom of the tag covered too. LOVE all the new colours created :) :) :)

Ok...so on to water technique #2. I white embossed a flower image on Neenah paper...you could also use watercolour paper. Next I messily coloured in the image with my Tim Holtz Distress Markers. Another "ugly" stage lol!

Then I spritzed the image with a mixture of water and perfect pearls. Doing this blends the ink and gives a pretty shimmery flower. As you can see by the completed tag....I redid the embossed images to a black colour :)

For the leaves I just traced inside my Dylusions Luscious Leaves stencil.

and painted in the leaves with Distress Crackle Paint in clear rock candy :)

My final and third water technique was used to custom colour my ribbon.

All you do is stamp your Tim Holtz Distress Ink pad down on your Ranger craft mat, it dosen't look like much...but give it a few sprays of the water and PP mixture you used earlier and magic!!  Then swirl your ribbon in the ink....I put my hand in a baggie so I don't get inky...I just reuse it over and over again :)

I would love to see you try some of these water techniques and show us your projects over at Simon Says Stamp and Show!!!

You might just be the random winner of a $50 dollar store voucher at the Simon Says Stamp Superstore!!! Heidi is sooo generous :)

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great day! Hugs, TRace :)

Trace...this tag is way cool! I love your background and how the water did such a cool job of mottling the background through the stencil! That is such a cool look! I love your embossed flowers and how you've popped them on the tag and I like your design. The sentiment is a great one and looks really nice cascading down the right side of the tag. Great "how to"! Thanks! <3 Candy

Thanks for showing the step-by-step for your gorgeous tag! I love the way you sprayed the stencil with water instead of laying it down and spraying through it.
