Hero Arts Hero Hostess Blog Hop 2013

Good morning and welcome to the Hero Arts Hostess Blog Hop, featuring fabulous stamps from the new 2013 release! I so hope you have been enjoying the week long event, with so much amazing inspiration!! Today is day 5, and the last day of the Hop :( You should have arrived at my blog from the oh so talented blog of Heather Doran.

I choose to play with the Hero Arts Cling CG517 Hexagon Background :)

I began by embossing the stamp image with Hero Arts White Embossing Powder onto watercolour paper. Then I applied various colours of Tim Holtz Distress Ink re-inkers one at time, spritzed them with a mixture of Perfect Pearls and water mixture. I tilted the paper around and let the ink travel. Then I choose another ink colour and repeated the process till I had the whole  paper covered. Let me tell (warn) you...this is very addicting and fun!!! I could of done this all day long, so I do have another one to share :)

For the sentiments I used an all time favorite of mine: Hero Arts Cling stamp  CG277 Friends are Treasures. To finish off the cards, I added a little bling with gems also from Hero Arts :)

Hero Arts will be awarding prizes from randomly drawn comments. For a chance to win, simply comment on ANY of the stops along the hop on ANY day, including each day's starting post at the Hero Club Blog. The more comments you leave, the better your chance of winning :)

Next stop on your blog hop, will be to head on over to Kelly Booth's blog...one sweet and talented lady!!!

If you discover a broken link along the Hop, please report it to this link HERE.
You can find a master list of the hop links at the Hero Arts Club Blog HERE.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Hugs, TRace

Simon Says Stamp and Show Challenge: Lace love

Good morning!! I have a dt card to share with you for our latest challenge at Simon Says Stamp and Show - Lace love. I know I love lace...I think I use it in some way on almost every card....it might be actual lace, a lace doily, or a lace border strip of paper...so many options for you to try out in this challenge :) I was inspired to weave my lace after seeing a lot of that on Pinterest lately. Here is my lace card:

As you can see I used a whole bunch of different laces from my stash :) and wove them together to make this puffy raised lace panel. I just wrapped the edges around to the back of my cardstock, and used double sided tape to secure them down.

I know the rest of the design team has some awesome projects, so you will want to check them out as well :)
I so hope you can join us this week at Simon Says Stamp and Show. Just for linking up your project you have a chance to win a randomly drawn price of a $50 dollar store voucher at Simon Says Stamp Superstore :))

Have one fantastic day! Hugs, TRace

Final Compendium of Curiosities 2 Challenge!

Good morning! Today I am sharing a tag I have made for Tim....yes the One and Only Tim Holtz...because it is his birthday coming up. Over at Studio L3 Linda is asking us to celebrate him, and all he has given to us with his vast talent and inspiration. We are to pick a favorite technique we have discovered and learned from one of Tim Holtz's two books; A Compendium of Curiosities Volumes I and II. This is the final Compendium of Curiosities 2 Challenge!

Here is my birthday tag for him:

On this one tiny tag, I have used quite a few techniques from his Volume I book:  pg.33 Wrinkle Free Distress, pg. 41 Rusted Enamel, pg.42 Distress Crackle (my favorite-at the moment), and pg.55 Tinted Vision Fragments.

A close-up to show the yummy crackle...I am so in LOVE with this stuff! You can also see the stamped distress star from his Visual Artistry stamp set, and the Chit Chat stickers from the Idea-ology line.

Here you can see the crown charm from Tim Holtz Adornments that I just had to add..... because we all know Tim Holtz is the King of all things distressed :) To colour these clear plastic letters; I used Tim Holtz Adirondack Alcohol Inks in colours Eggplant, Stream, and Copper.

I hope you have a great day too! Thanks for stopping by to visit! Hugs, TRace
