Bookmark

Just a quick share today...my daughter loved the bookmark I made for her yesterday, but she replied..."I often am reading more then one book at a time"....so being the good mommy that I am lol.... I forced myself back into the craft room, I made her a second one :)

Once again I used the alcohol ink in water technique to create this tag :) HERE is the video again in case you missed my other posts lol.

Thanks for stopping by! Hugs, TRace

wine tag :)

Well I am back again with another tag...oh how I love making tags...not too sure why...but I think it is because they have multiple purposes?!?!

This tag is for a wine bottle/hostess gift at Christmas. It is inspired by the latest Make It Monday #59 challenge over at the Papertrey Ink blog.  We are to use computer generated sentiments on a die cut. There is a fantastic video showing how to do this!!!!
Thanks for peeking in again! Hugs, TRace

Playing with Alcohol Inks take 2 :)

Hello!! I just could not stop playing with a newly learned technique for my alcohol inks....you can see the you tube videos on the post prior to this :)

This time I choose to use white Neenah paper instead of a beige tag....so I could get brighter colours, you know me..... I LOVE bright!!

Here is a close-up so you can see the bits of texture. I found out that you should add more ink then you think, especially if you want a brightly coloured and covered piece. I put about six drops of each colour citrus, clover, sunshine yellow, raspberry and stream into the water.

Below is a second dip into the ink/water mixture with out adding more ink.

Here is the tag/bookmark I made for my reading obsessed daughter :)

I am going to enter this in Simon Says Stamp challenge...Anything Goes and also in Simon Says Stamp and Show challenge...Tags.

TAG

Good evening!!! I stumbled across a video on youtube....showing a technique of using your alcohol inks in water and then dipping a tag in...so here my sample. SO glad to have found this new technique for my neglected alcohol inks :)....may just need to buy more now LOL!! HERE are some sites HERE and HERE. Have fun!!!

As you can see I layered a few stamps on top of the inked tag, and then added the focal point.
I am going to enter this in Simon Says Stamp and Show Challenge-Tags :)

Happy Mother's Day

Good evening!! I was able to play today and tried out a cool Copic technique..."Graduated Backgronds". I always love new Copic techniques for I find I don't use them in the traditional "colouring" way.
Here is my card:

Papertrey ink has a fabulous turtorial post for it's Make It Monday #58 challenge....where Nichole demonstrates this Copic technique....you can check it out HERE and watch her video:)

I am also entering this in Simon Says Stamp Challenge- Let's Play Bingo :) Where I used the line Flowers, Lace, and Twine.
This card also fits with the challenge over at Lily Pad Cards....Flowers :)

my heart......

Good afternoon!! I spent some time in my craft room today and after quite a dry spell, boy did it feel good!!!
I have a sympathy card to share...I don't really like making these ahead of time...almost seems like bad vibes :(

My inspiration for this card came from the Hero Arts blog site, and the oh so talented Julie Ebersole...you can check out her video:)
Did you know??? Hero Arts has reached 10,000 "Likes" on Facebook...wow oh wow, and they are having a giveaway to celebrate :) You might want to check it out HERE.

I am going to enter this card in this months challenge at Hero Arts and in Simon Says Stamp Challenge Blog-Let's Play Bingo :) I used the line die cuts, lace, and glitter.

Lily Pad Cards is also having a Flower Challenge...so this card will go in that one too :)

My craft room :)

After helping my friend reorganize her craft room last weekend...I had the bug to get going and tidy up mine. I thought I better take a few picks, for it may never look this clean again :) This is the view from the home computer desk.

I was totally inspired by Jennifer McGuire's desk that I saw in her craftroom....to have a desk that came out from the wall, so my back was not towards anyone else that may join me in there....since our home computer is also in this room, I sometimes have company:) or I can watch the TV easier.

The bulletin board was inspired by another awesome artist...Kathy Racoosin.
Mine is very colourful and busy....but I love it!!!

Hope to get some mojo flowing...but part of me doesn't want to mess it up lol!  Have a fantastic day! Hugs, TRace

You're Someone Very Special

Good evening!! I am back from a busy weekend...where I was able to help a fellow card maker/scrapbooker, but more importantly a great friend reorganize her scrap room. I wish I had taken a pic of her pile of stuff that she emptied from the room before we started to put it all back in :) I am so proud of how much she was able to purge!!!

I did sneak in a few scrap moments while she sorted her papers, and I was still able to offer up a good few "get rid of that" comments lol. I made a card for the latest challenge over at the Hero Arts blog.

Here is the challenge info and the colour story:
